  • Big Horn Mts

    August 10th, 2023

Awesome park but difficult to get pictures from curvy roads. What is the plural of moose? We saw two, up close and personal but unable to take their picture, likewise bison! We did eat a bison burger but again, no pic.

It is a beautiful 55 degree day and I am nearly weeping at the beauty. It is frustrating not to be able to capture it in a photo, but we keep trying.

Below beautiful waterfalls on roadside pullover.

We must leave and are heading toward the town of Emblem,WY, population, 10, then to Cody to fill up on water and fuel, $4.49 for regular is the highest we’ve seen. Approaching Yellowstone, sign says No tent camping due to GRIZZLY BEARS. Yikes, glad we are in a glamper.

  • Devils Tower, WY

    August 9th, 2023

Devil’s Tower, a National Monument, afforded us a shaded, 2 mile walk, taking in prayer cloths hanging on the sacred grounds left by Native American women praying for unity among all still living today.

  • Harvest Hosts, SD

    August 9th, 2023

Our first Harvest Hosts experience, behind the Sick -N-Twisted Brewery and The Nauti Wines.

Harvest Host is a website for campers like AirB&B is for lodging. At the location, a winery, a bar, a farm etc, you buy a product and then stay for “free.”

    Our view from our camper.

  • Mt Rushmore, SD

    August 8th, 2023

The Badlands are breathtaking and Mount Rushmore is remarkable, but, only that first glimpse of the sculpture in the trees. Closer, it is over run by tourists, taking away much of its grandeur.

  • Badlands, SD

    August 8th, 2023

We are sharing the road, restaurants and campgrounds with motorcycles from all over the country that are heading to the infamous Sturgis Festival. All cool and kind of fun!

Bison, deer and breathtaking views in The Badlands National Park. Even cowgirls and cowboys,

some on horseback and some on 4 wheelers.

Vast meadows of gold are actually sunflowers, a huge money crop for South Dakota.

  • Pleasure Way West, Summer 2023

    August 7th, 2023

It has been a while since our fabulous send off from New Bern! We spent several days in Minnesota with family, camping on the way with Jenny, then headed West toward South Dakota and The Badlands.

“Dignity” is a powerful, stainless steel  sculpture created and dedicated to the Courage, Perseverance and Wisdom of Lakota and Dakota women. It overlooks the Missouri River.

  • Camping trip started here. Below is Italy trip

  • Toilettes

    May 19th, 2023

I had read that toilettes would be difficult to find, strange, rarely have tissue and often cost money. I was a little concerned. However, we had no trouble finding them, always found tissue and only had to pay twice. The signs and styles varied, these, our favorites.

    THE END

    We are home.

  • Sirmione at Lake Garda

    May 15th, 2023

Views from our balcony. Leave it to Gary to find an AirB&B across from a gelato shop on one corner and a castle on another. It is our refuge from people! It is packed with people just like us, tourists.

    Photo shoot. Great people watching.

Zoom in and we are yellow house on left corner behind fort.

    Good night Sirmione.

  • Venice/Venezia, Masks, Mother’s Day & More

    May 14th, 2023

First, breakfast in bed, then later,

Fluffy Brunch ‘cause, those are pancakes you see and you can get them sweet or savory. Eggs and bacon are scarce here, so, I had to talk Gary into savory. So, pancakes,3 each about 3 inches high, topped with perfectly cooked egg and sauce resembling hollandaise, on the plate with avocados, carrot hummus, fresh, tiny lettuces, walnuts…the list of yum goes on.

    Then the real fun began
